GARWOOD--The last time Eric Harrison was in the same room with The Nerds was when they played his ninth-grade semi-formal in 1982. Eric could have never predicted thirty plus years later he would be performing his You Tube hit named "1986" at the Crossroads in Garwood.

This Friday, Harrison will reunite with the Nerds Band, but in a slightly different setting.

Harrison set to open up for the Nerds Band on Sept. 29, 2017 and he is nothing but excited about his opportunity.

Harrison is no newcomer to the Crossroads, as he is a frequent act at the venue, and when he was asked to open up for The Nerds, he could not pass up the opportunity.

Harrison’s biggest musical influences are Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello, so audiences are sure to hear songs that resemble both musician’s styles. “Harrison is an Elvis C. disciple who does his role model proud by writing good, economical 3-minute confessions,” wrote Paula Carino in a review.

Harrison defines his music as ‘literate pop,’ that combines good words with great melodies that make a connection with his audience and let them feel what his songs are all about.

In the past, Harrison has opened up for notable musicians, like David Johansen along with Mike Peters of the Alarm. He is looking forward to opening up for the Nerds so that a new audience can hear his Costello-esque sound.

Opening act starts at 7PM but for more information on the upcoming show, call the Crossroads for show times at 908-518-0323 and for tickets visit www.xxroads.com
