PRINCETON, N.J.--The Salad and Smoothie Market and The Candy Shoppe opened just before Christmas 2017 and are centrally located in downtown Princeton at 6 Spring Street, right off of Witherspoon Street with another entrance through the Princeton Library Plaza. The business is a vision of Michelle Triola Lazarczy, thus creating The Salad and Smoothie Market and The Candy Shoppe. The Salad and Smoothie Market is all about healthy food for a healthy life style, personalized customer service and commitment to honoring the environment by using only biodegradable and or recyclable containers. The Market uses organic fruits, vegetables, proteins, nuts and grains such as quinoa. The Market does not use any ice fillers in their smoothies! The Market prepares all their own salad dressings as well as offers oatmeal all throughout the day. An endless amount of special and unique add ins can be chosen. The mantra for the customers is “ The Sky’s The Limit “ and views the customers as “masters of what they choose to eat”, therefore The Market is a place where you can be as simple or complex in your choices for your salads and your smoothies. The Market Team are more than happy to cater to your requests to make your salad and or smoothie exactly to your specifications. One of the most popular salads offered on the menu is the “South Western” which is a choice of lettuce (chopped or leaves), corn, salsa, grilled chicken, red onions, grilled peppers, cheddar jack cheese, and black beans. Two of the most interesting smoothies are the “Calming” smoothie which is a choice of liquid, peaches, bananas and granola, and the “Energy” smoothie consisting of freshly squeezed orange juice, strawberries, mangos, and bananas. Another unique smoothie is the “Detoxify” which is coconut water, apple juice, mango, banana and spinach. Once again, customers are encouraged to be creative when making their salads and smoothies. The Market also makes sure to have on hand “grab and go” for those who may not have a few minutes to wait. The neighborhood businesses have been very welcoming to The Salad and Smoothie Market and appreciate having such a healthy eatery in close proximity. The Market is business, kid and family friendly. Many in down town Princeton have become regular patrons and many visitors and tourists stop by as well. The Candy Shoppe, which is a part of the business, has been referred to as “ the talk of the school “ by one of the parent’s who has been by more than a few times. After school, middle and high school students often drop by for a healthy snack such as an “energy ball” or some candy choices from barrels and baskets. The Candy Shoppe as well as The Salad and Smoothie Market have become an after school destination. Often throughout the day, Princeton University students, staff and faculty will stop in for smoothies, salads, and some “penny candy”. The Candy Shoppe offers over 100 different kinds of candies, a mix from the past and those that are popular today.
