PISCATAWAY--If you were lucky enough to be at the Rutgers outdoor wrestling match against Maryland at High Point Solutions Stadium you were in for a real treat. Nick Suriano the Nationally ranked transfer from Penn State did not disappoint and won by technical fall. Nick wrestled in the 125 weight class. The Paramus native was tactically sound and took control of the match from the onset and never looked back. The next anticipated match was  Scott DelVecchio at the 133 weight class. Scott is a 2 X NCAA Qualifier against Maryland Michael Doetsch a red shirt freshman. DelVecchio proved too much to handle for an 11-5 easy win. In the 141 weight class Michael Van Brill won in a close match 10-9 as he did a back flip to please the crowd. Rutgers grappler Richie Lewis won 15-0. Jordan agano from South Brunswick and now a Junior at Rutgers & NCAA Qualifier jumped out to an early 2 point lead in the 174 weight class division but couldn't handle the ensuing barrage from Maryland freshman Josh Ulgade. Ulgade went on to score eight unanswered points winning convincingly by a score of 8-2. Nicholas Gravina 184 weight class wins 10-4. Rutgers Kevin Mulligan Defeats Nick Capello in an easy victory 11-2. Rutgers Heavyweight Razohnn Gross a two sport athlete straight from playing on the RU football team a mere two years ago. His opponent from Maryland was Jr. Youssif Hemida 2017 National qualifier. Youssif controlled the action early taking a 2-0 lead after the second period en route to a 7-1 victory in Marylands 27-9 loss.
